Lighting Kit

This is the complete online instruction guide to fitting your Landing / Warning Lights
to your De-Agostini Millennium Falcon.

What's In The Box

In the lighting set there are 5 different sets of lights.
  1. Landing Lights Left 9 Led's (White 3mm)
  2. Landing Lights Right 11 Led's (White 3mm)
  3. Warning Lights Left 8 Led's (Red 2mm)
  4. Warning Lights Right 6 Led's (Red 2mm)
  5. Cockpit Warning Lights 2 Led's (Red 2mm)
Also in the kit you will find 2 drill bits one 3mm (landing lights)
and a 2mm one for the warning lights.

The places that you will need to drill will be referenced against the internal framework, so I will tell you the frame number / side (L)/(R) / then measurement in mm.

Here is a picture of the Falcon framework.
The lights fit symmetrically either side of the central support spar.

All points ref from the rear of the falcon. Also ref from the strengthening spars and the frame numbers.  The measurements are measurement from back of frame / from strengthening strut.

Warning lights fit into the opposite corners of the engine cowl/cover. Led’s are easier to fit with this cover off. If this is glued in place make access holes in hull plating to access the area needed to fit them.

Once you have drilled all the holes for the landing lights you will need to glue the nylon standoffs provided with the kit.

These are placed directly over the drilled hole collar down as shown in the picture.

Hint:

Use a cocktail stick in the hole you have drilled to help you position the standoff's correctly.

Many thanks Mick Poole for that one.

Feeding The Cables

It is so much simpler to fit the front landing lights (Right Landing Lights) and warning lights (Left Warning Lights) with the front mandible removed. Feed these lights through the holes in the hull shown in orange in the picture.

Here is another picture showing the place to feed the LED's from the inside of the Falcon.
The warning lights on the Engine Housing should be fed through the holes in the hull marked in

orange.

You will find it simpler if you loop them through here.

Here is a picture of the Engine Housing.

The 4 places that you can see circled in orange are
where you need to drill to place the warning lights.
